Biggest Weakness Or Strength
Akashi was a 10 year old boy who lived in a small village in Japan . He loved Judo, all his friends at school learnt judo, and he wasn't one to be left behind. However there was one problem, Akashi lost his arm in an accident when the roof of the old building collapsed on him. After all, Japan was famous for its earthquakes.
He went to the judo master and requested that he be accepted as his disciple. The was impressed with Akashi's sincerity and trained him. After three months of training Akashi realised that he had only learnt one move. He was doing very well in all exercises and his body was getting more and more strength. He asked his master, "When can I learn the next move?"
The wise master replied , You must master this move, it is true that that this is the only move that you have learned but this is the only learning you will ever need."Akashi did not understand but he had outmost faith in his master. So did just that, a few months later the boy participated in his first tournament. To everyone's surprise the one armed boy won. The master's face glowed in pride.
A year later, he participated in the grand judo tournament, he won the first two rounds with great skill. The third round was more challenging; Akashi took a quite few hits but managed to be in his feet. His opponent was very skilled and strong. He was also very huge. The audience felt the boy was out of his league an protested, a few urged the referee to stop the match. The master waved his hand and requeseted to let his student continue.
Suddenly the opponent made a mistake. He got overconfidence and careless, instantly Akashi used the one move that his master taught him. His opponent was pinned to the ground and Akashi won. An astonished crowd roared and cheered. Akashi clapped for himself, with his master providing him the other hand!
Akashi was thrilled but puzzled. On the way back home he asked his master why he never taught him another moveand relied on just one move for him to win in every match.
The maser replied ,"Your victory is guaranteed for two reasons. The first is that you are mastered in that move to perfection, the second reason is that the only way out of that move for your opponent is to grab your left arm in defence. Since you do not have the left arm, hie has no way to break and hold of the move you make on him. So your loss of your arm is also a gain in this way!
" Your biggest weakness is thus your biggest strength and you will always remain unbeaten on that move." Akashi was speechless at his master's wisdom and bowed to him in reverence. The master gave him a high five and hugged him.
