Spiritual Haven

Nearly a hundred years ago, when Bhendi Bazar in Mumbai was set up, probably, the roads were straight and the houses were aligned. The shops too would have not felt the urge to break the alignment. But today wee see a Bhendi Bazaar that screams of disorder . The narrow alleys are lined with garbage, buildings beg for support and no car can drive into the bazar without barging into a pedestrian. In this chaos, my taxi comes to a halt outside a lane that looks  a bit cleaner than it's surroundings. Down the lane is a large  structure covered in a white tent like material  protecting it from the dust and the rubble of the construction in the area. Raudat Tahera  mausoleum, built in 1975 and dedicated to Saint Syedna Saifuddin  is a landmarkonly a few Mumbaikers  know of. Beauty aside and thought and precision that have gone into building the structure is a matter of marvel. For visitors  and devotees  the mausoleum is a safe haven from the chaos outside. "On entering the mausoleum, one always feels a spiritual connect. The architecture  emanates a  radiance that gives a feeling of  peace and  tranquility," says Qureish Raghib, media adviser of Saifi Burhani upliftment trust. Inside the mausoleum complex, you first step into a courtyard. as you immerse yourself in the white marble surrounding of the mausoleum, you leave behind the grey hues of  Mumbai. The architecture is a fusion of Egyptian , Arabic and Indian. The four entrances of the mausoleum are similar to those of the  Al-Aqmar masjid in Cairo. And while the 52ft high dome is a crowing feature, the mausoleum itself rises to 108ft. It is believed that the marble used to  build the structure is from Rajasthan's famed Makrana quarries  which supplies marble to the  Taj Mahal. As you enter the sanctum, you see people kneeling down before the golden shrine , dedicated to Syenda. What sets the the Raudat Tahera apart from the other mausoleum is that here, the entire Quran is engraved in gold on the inner walls of the mausoleum. Excerpts from Syedna's interpretation of the scriptures are inscribed on 772 marble slabs and the 113 Bismillahs  are inscribed with precious gems. Each  measurement  in the mausoleum has a significance. The inner dimensions of the tomb are 51ft*51ft Syedna was the first 51st vice-regent of the Fatemi imams the grave measures 28 sqft it is the age t which he became the leader of the Dawoodi Bohras the inner height of the mausoleum is 80 inches above the plinth- the age at which the saint passed away. The opulence of the mausoleum does not intimidate, instead a visit  to the shrine offers comfort and  an opportunity for introspection. Says shopekeeper Mulla Shbbir. A Nemunch wala "If I do not visit the mausoleum y day seems incomplete and empty."

Discovering Aesthetic space

There is noting as dreamy and poetic noting as radical, subversive and psychedelic as mathematics."There couldn't be a simultaneously  precise and lyrical quote to lend prespective to the work of Dr Haresh Lalvani. Dr lalvani who is described as a visual mathematician, architect, inventor, morphologist, sculptor and professor, has been developing what he calls "a morphological genome that encodes potentially all forms of design application." What this means is that Dr Lalvani, over the last 30 years, had worked to create a genetic code of shape/ forms. He arrived at this idea through the relation ship between the numbers and shapes. Numbers generate shapes. Taking that basic correlation, Dr Lalvani created a shape code based on sequence of numbers that could generate a broad range of forms. These forms were similar and yet dofferent- like a snowflake. One body of work that illustrates this his series called "Morpihng platters" In these series Lalvani employes what he calls a Lautomaton to create a broad set of platters, where within it's

perimeter, which remains constant, various patters are generated through changes in the relation ship between lines, curves and angles, much like in nature and genetic theory. Lautomaton is the process of generating patterns where just a single variable, for instance , the lengths keeps changing. Patterns both discernible and chaotic take shape. The result is that each platter is unique. The implications of the morphological genome and the resulting physical pieces function on an aesthetic level, as art while pushing our understanding  of these objects in it's broad implication on future of sustainable mass digital production and customization This is a huge deal when we think about how it will change the way we think of building materials and architecture. It means that on a mass scale, people will have access to a process where they can choose a  combination of numbers based on whatever they fancy and actually create something that is unique- be it platters of their home. Dr. Lalvani's innovations are essentially an intersection of mathematics, Science, technology and art. They are patented inventions that resulted in both, a functional and an aesthetic object, fabricated in laser cut steel. The designs have been created based on a collaboration with Milgo-Bufkin,  the art- metal  fabricators who have worked with artists such as Richard Serra, Donal Judd, Sol Lewitt and  Frank Stalla  to name a few. Each piece in my mind also resonates at the philosophical and spiritual level to the individual whose existential conundrums might possibly be understood through a new lens. Dr. Lalvani devlves into  lot of existing  philosophies and  scientific  conclusions on the oneness of  life. That all things, however different, originate from a singular oneness. Be it at the eve of Africa  or the example used to illustrate  Brahman. A striking  example  illustrating the concept of "difference in oneness" in relation to  Brahman is it's likening  to  the light of an oil lamp covered with a clay pot full of holes of varying sizes. The light that comes out of each hole travels a distance and has a different intensity depending on the size of each hole . All the they are all the same , having emanated from this one source. It would seem that science and faith are finding ways to explain the human condition and  our relationship to the environment and the cosmos. It is predominant interpretation I took away from the work of Dr. Lalvani in particular s current installation in NYC"SEED54"
"SEED54"  comes from further discoveries made within mathematical systems that have been applied in creating new ways of  material production;  steel to be specific. Dr Lalvani discovered a system called  "Hypersurfaces" , which is described as a "new mathematical class of surface subdivisions that combines aperiodic  tiling patterns with any curved surface.  SEED54 is part of this series of worked when curved steels with perforations on it's surface, deduced by the mathematical system, stands in the form of  a seed slightly floating  above the planter on the side street in New York. Dr. Lalvani's works invigorates an interesting space which effortlessly ties in the aesthetic and philosophical  underpinning of his discoveries and inventions with that of literal functionality. "SEED54"in it's perforations , through which you see a distorted citysscape represents a man-mad edifies that follow the rules set within nature instead of hampering it. Its art and architecture that reflects rather than imposes on our natural resources both in it's  idealistic aspirationsas well as in it's literal production.
New media theorists and philosopher Boris Groys has elaborated  upon the art of existing within the space of the public in a manner that neglects its tag of "art"in it's most elitist exclusionary context. That art must be something that already exist within the world without it having to be  defined within certain parameters by a few. With the invention of morphological genome and the resulting set of works such as "morphing platters"and "hypersurfaces", Dr lalvani illustrates the in which material can be manipulated to create mass customization . "Art" can be created by anyone in the open source way that reflects the idea of uniquenessin difference. This is quite epic.

A Healthy Vacation

Since holidays have come you parents can maintain a good health of your child. Your kiddys must be very busy while going to school so they don't get time to eat properly. So this is the time you Parents can help your kiddys to grow and be  healthy. Lets take a review at some of the steps

  • Develop a healthy eating habits - lots of vegetables, greens and sprout
  •  Allow  play outdoor games with their friends.
  • Do not allow them to drink areated  drinks . Drink healthy fruit juicesand water
  • No feasting and  binging
  • Don't bribe them with sweets and chocolates
  • Limited TV and computer time.

‘Largest ever’ cyber attack jams Internet

A squabble between a group fighting spam and a Dutch company that hosts websites said to be sending spam has escalated into one of the largest computer attacks on the Internet, causing widespread congestion and jamming crucial infrastructure.
Millions of ordinary Internet users have experienced delays in services or could not reach a particular website for a short time.
However, for the Internet engineers who run the global network, the problem is more worrisome. The attacks are becoming increasingly powerful, and computer security experts worry that if they continue to escalate, people may not be able to reach basic Internet services, like e-mail and online banking.
The dispute started when the spam-fighting group, called Spamhaus, added the Dutch company Cyberbunker to its blacklist, which is used by e-mail providers to weed out spam.
Cyberbunker, named for its headquarters, a five-story former Nato bunker, offers hosting services to any website “except child porn and anything related to terrorism”, according to its website.
A spokesman for Spamhaus, which is based in Europe, said the attacks began March 19 but had not stopped the group from distributing its blacklist.
Patrick Gilmore, chief architect at Akamai Networks, a digital content provider, saidSpamhaus’ role was to generate a list of Internet spammers.
Of Cyberbunker, he added: “These guys are just mad. To be frank, they got caught. They think they should be allowed to spam.”
Large data streams
Mr. Gilmore said that the attacks, which are generated by swarms of computers called botnets, concentrate data streams that are larger than the Internet connections of entire countries. He likened the technique, which uses a long-known flaw in the Internet’s basic plumbing, to using a machine gun to spray an entire crowd when the intent is to kill one person.
The attacks were first mentioned publicly last week by Cloudflare, an Internet security firm in Silicon Valley that was trying to defend against the attacks and as a result became a target.
“These things are essentially like nuclear bombs,” said Matthew Prince, chief executive of Cloudflare. “It’s so easy to cause so much damage.”
The so-called denial of service, or DDoS, attacks have reached previously unknown magnitudes, growing to a data stream of 300 billion bits per second. “It is a real number,” said Mr. Gilmore. “It is the largest publicly announced DDoS attack in the history of the Internet.”
Retaliation against a vigilante
Spamhaus, one of the most prominent groups tracking spammers on the Internet, uses volunteers to identify spammers and has been described as a vigilante group.
In the past, blacklisted sites have retaliated against Spamhaus with denial-of-service attacks, in which they flood Spamhaus with traffic requests from personal computers until it falls offline. But in recent weeks, the attackers hit back with a far more powerful strike that exploited Internet’s core infrastructure, called the Domain Name System, or DNS.
That system functions like a telephone switchboard for the Internet. It translates the names of websites like Facebook.com or Google.com into a string of numbers that the Internet’s underlying technology can understand. Millions of computer servers around the world perform the actual translation.
In the latest incident, attackers sent messages, masquerading as ones coming from Spamhaus, to those machines, which were then amplified drastically by the servers, causing torrents of data to be aimed back at the Spamhaus computers.
When Spamhaus requested aid from Cloudflare, the attackers began to focus their digital ire on the companies that provide data connections for both Spamhaus and Cloudflare.
Questioned about the attacks, Sven Olaf Kamphuis, an Internet activist who said he was a spokesman for the attackers, said in an online message, “We are aware that this is one of the largest DDoS attacks the world had publicly seen.”
Mr. Kamphuis said Cyberbunker was retaliating against Spamhaus for “abusing their influence”. “Nobody ever deputised Spamhaus to determine what goes and does not go on the Internet,” said Mr. Kamphuis. “They worked themselves into that position by pretending to fight spam.”
A typical denial of service attack tends to affect only a small number of networks. But in the case of a Domain Name System flood attack, data packets are aimed at the victim from servers all over the world. Such attacks cannot easily be stopped, computer security experts say, because those servers cannot be shut off without halting the Internet.
Potential security flaw
''The No. 1 rule of the Internet is that it has to work," said Dan Kaminsky, a security researcher who pointed out the inherent vulnerabilities of the Domain Name System years ago. "You can't stop a DNS flood by shutting down those servers because those machines have to be open and public by default. The only way to deal with this problem is to find the people doing it and arrest them."
The heart of the problem, according to several Internet engineers, is that many large Internet service providers have not set up their networks to make sure that traffic leaving their networks is actually coming from their own users.
The potential security flaw has long been known by Internet security specialists, but it has only recently been exploited in a way that threatens the Internet infrastructure. New York Times News Service

Renewable energy powers most operations: Apple

A file photo of Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California. Apple now powers 75 per cent of its corporate facilities from renewable energy sources, the company has said.
A year after incurring harsh criticism for failing to use enough renewable energy, Apple now powers 75 per cent of its corporate facilities from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, the company has revealed.
While the factories of many of its suppliers in China still run on fossil fuels, Apple’s corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley, Munich (Germany), Austin (Texas) and Cork (Ireland) as well as its largest data centre in Maiden (North Carolina) now run on renewable energy such as solar and wind, Apple said in its annual environmental progress report.
“Several of our largest and most energy-intensive locations are now running entirely on renewables, including our offices at One Infinite Loop, in Austin and Cork, Ireland,” said Scott Brodrick with Apple’s worldwide product marketing group.
“We’re especially proud of our progress at our data centre in Maiden, which we said at the start would be a model of green building and we’ve followed through on that. So when you download an iTunes song, for example, it’s coming from a facility that’s powered 100-per-cent on renewable energy.” The report, which was posted on the company’s website, said that its use of renewables has jumped 114 per cent since 2010.
The progress was welcomed by Greenpeace, which last year ranked the company almost last in its report on the green efforts of tech companies.
“Apple’s announcement shows that it has made real progress in its commitment to lead the way to a clean energy future.
“Apple’s increased level of disclosure about its energy sources helps customers know that their iCloud will be powered by clean energy sources, not coal,” Greenpeace senior IT analyst Gary Cook said in a statement.

Facebook gearing up for ‘new home on Android’

Industry buzz points to Facebook smartphone, a modified version of the Android operating system in an association with HTC

Facebook will next week unveil its latest push into the mobile world — and industry watchers are convinced the social network is about to launch a Facebook-branded phone.
Media has been summoned to an event at Facebook’s headquarters in California on April 4, with teaser invitations bearing the words “Come See Our New Home on Android”.

HTC TIE-UP

The world’s largest social networking site is giving no further clues, and the announcement could be nothing more than a new service or application, but detailed leaks suggest the company is about to release the fruits of a long-rumoured collaboration with Taiwanese manufacturer HTC—a smartphone whose software is a customised version of Google’s Android operating system.
While the camera and memory are reportedly run of the mill, its software may be unique. With a similar look to a black iPhone, the phone is supposedly packed with Facebook services, with easy access to its instant messaging and Instagram photography applications, and a home screen displaying the owner’s news feed.
“You have a good version of all the Facebook features you know and want on your phone. So now the next thing we’re going to do is get really good at building new mobile-first experiences,” Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg told investors in January.
‘Facebook Home’
The project may be called Facebook Home, according to TechCrunch, and its software will be a tweaked version of Android with Facebook built-in functions.
In recent weeks, details for the Facebook phone have been published on Twitter by two anonymous sources, one of whom is close to HTC. In January @LlabTooFeR published full details of the phone’s camera, screen size and processing power.
The source claimed HTC and Facebook were developing a handset, codenamed Myst, that would be available on the U.S. network AT&T, would be 4G compatible, and would have a physical Facebook button. This month @evleaks, another source of early news on mobile development, published a similar list of specifications. — © Guardian Newspapers Limited, 2013

                           Thread Garden

It was on April  2012 when I saw it for the first time. I went to Ooty with my parents. We visited the botanical garden and went on o boat ride. I was totally tired and wanted rest. I  was looking here and there  impatiently when my eyes suddenly fell on the signboard  showing 'the Thread Garden'. I was surprised and wanted to visit. I  forced my parents to take me to the garden and finally agreed. I could not believe my eyes for a moment when I entered the garden. The garden was made out of thread and only thread , no other materials is used . This was something really very very amazing. The garden, though  artificial was full of natural looking flowers, creepers,  grass etc . About 50 specially trained artists worked for 12 years to shape this garden. This is the first artificial garden  in the whole world to be done using only threads. This shows the skill of the artists and also their patience. My parents thanked for insisting them to go and visit them. It is a place which worth a visit.

So sure to visit thread garden when you go to Ooty. Here is the address

                        Fighting for computers

In 2009, more than half of US households had just one computer. In 2013, most American households have more gadgets than people. However, if you're still struggling to keep everyone in the family happy with just one computer, here are some smart strategies that you can carry out to encourage peace and harmony with family tech use.
Here are some of the tips to stop fighting:

Create Separate User Accounts

You can do this with both PC and Mac computers. Creating separate accounts for each family member provides a sense of individuality and control. Users can have different backgrounds, desktop icons, and folders. These accounts may have passwords for privacy as well. Consider allowing passwords to keep nosy siblings out, while requiring that all passwords be reported to parents for supervision.

Keep Individual Cubbies by the Computer

While you may share a single computer, this doesn't mean that you have to share all your gadgets. Assign each family member a cubby near the computer desk. This is ideal for storing a portable external hard drive, USB drives, Bluetooth devices, a special mouse pad, USB toys, and game discs.

Make Clear Rules for Computer Use

You can stop arguments in their early stages by setting clear rules for all computer use. Assign each family member a set amount of time each day and be specific about when this allotment will take place. Cover all contingencies such as whether computer minutes roll over to the next day, and if you will let one child to give her minutes to another. Discuss how you'll handle exceptions if a child has a special school project that requires use of the computer, so these issues are always handled fairly for every child.

Place a Clock in a Prominent Location Near the Computer

To avoid arguments about when a user's time is up, keep a specially designated clock in the computer area. This will always be the official clock for mediating computer disputes, regardless of what the user's watch or desktop may read. A clock with an alarm is ideal for setting a five-minute warning before computer time is up.

Specify Where Laptops Can be Used

Desktop computers make it easy to appoint a family computer desk. With notebooks, the rules for use are not so clear-cut. Discuss the rules for where laptops can and cannot be used both in and outside the house. Children are less likely to take part in inappropriate behavior online when computer use takes place in a family room or other common area.

Allow Computer Use Outside the Home as Needed

If one computer just isn't enough to give each child online study time at the end of the semester, you may temporarily need the use of an extra computer. Consider taking the family to the library or a computer cafÈ where you can get access to other computers without having to buy a whole new device.
Keeping everyone in the family on a single computer is tricky, but there's no need to write this off as impossible. Sharing the computer may limit inappropriate use in teens and foster important values such as sharing in younger children.

Not A Yucky Holi After All

All the children of the neighbourhood  disliked a uncle they called "Yucky  Chacha!"  but what was so yucky about him? Well he was a grouchy middle- aged man with small slit eyes and a sharp tongue and what child disliked most about him was his selfishness!  A wealthy business man Yucy Chacha whose real name was  Bhupen Bhandra , owned a large house with a with a huge garden nothing grew! His compound was fenced with huge walls so that the children  could not jump in to play. The poor urchins of the neighbourhood  longed for a  playground to play cricket but had nowhere to go  expect for the road  where they were shooed away by the pedestrians and motorcyclists "Could we use your garden"? they asked Yucky Chacha one of his not yucky moods. The grumpy ma had screamed "Ho dare you ask me for my garden? It is certainly not for kids!" So for whom was it then? Not a single tree or blade of a grass dare to grow in this unkempt land. No chirping birds sat on his wall or near his window sill  for Yucky Chacha was the grumpiest of souls and he would not let any one enter his house expect his maid and his driver.

Holi was fast approaching

"Only ten more days!"shouted the young Anupam  excitedly. He lived in a small house adjacent to Yucky Chacha's  "Why don't you invite Bhupen Chachaji for holi to our place this year?" suggested Anupam's father one morning. "Are you mad, Papa?" cried the boy in shock . "Yucky  Chacha for holi? No way!"
It's not nice to call him yucky ,son, "patiently explained his father. "Holi is a festival occasion. Invite him home" Anupam did not share his father's enthusiasm but nevertheless he came with a plan. On Holi day, Anupam and his friends waited for Yucky Chacha to come out of his huse and as he did, the children took out their waterguns and sprayed colour on him saying, "Happy holi yo you Chachaji!" The children  then held him by his hands and began to dance. At first time the grouchy man felt shocked but by looking at the gleeful
faces of the children, his heart  melted and stared to sing and dance with  them, too! Goodness! What a sight it was! Yucky Chacha all covered in green red, blue and hue , singing at his top voice and skipping around with the kids on the road . The children then led him to Anupam's house where he met his parent and shared a sumptuous meal with them.

"How very foolish I have been," he told Anupam's parents, "to keep these kids away !"You see I am alone and no one comes to visit me. Perhaps it's because I am grouchy and sour faced , am not I?" he shouted. And lo! Yucky Chacha garden was not barren anymore. There was a  awkward silence. Chachaji then took his leave  but a great change had come over him!
The following year, Yucky  Chacha  opened his gate to everyone in his neighbourhood. "Come along , children . Celebrate Holi at my place!" he shouted . And  lo! .

"Wow!" cried everyone  "Thank Anupam and his friends for this" said Yucky Chacha  cheerfully . "They spread colours on me  last year during last holi and  warmth thy shared made me a new man and my garden is  a reflection of this change!"  Butterflies  flitted around and bees  buzzed around the table that were laid out . Looks like even they were tempted by the sweet smell of the Kheer and Nimbu sharbat  that was being  served in tall glasses. The kids were  treated to a delicious meal of pulav , paneer makhani, kheer and fruit cake! Chacha screamed in delight as the kids huddled around him , "From now on, I am lucky Chacha for I have such  young lovely friends!"

                             The Indian Calendar

There are two types of calendar's in India .
  1.  Shaka Samvat  Calender - This calender was created by king  Shalivahana  of Satavahana Dynasty. People in South India and  Maharashtra  follow this calender. The Government has declared this as the National calender of festival
  2. Vikarmi Samvat  Calender - This calender was established by  the emperor Vikramadithya. People in Western and North Indian follow this  calender. It is the official calender of Bangladesh  and Nepal. There are twelve months in each of this calender. Each month is divided into two pakshas  Each containing fifteen days. Each month begins with  a bright fortnight when the moon gradually becomes bigger and brighter. The last day of  the bright fortnight is a full moon day or poornima. This is followed by dark fortnight . when moon gradually wanes and disappears The last day of paksha is amavasya

                             Music Within

As the drawn dawned upon Whistling Woods,  dew drops shone on each leaf , They trickled ,down to the leaf tips. Drip , drip ,drip they dipped themselves in the soil.... The ringtone awoke all the creatures of the woods.

Elephant trumpeted and monkeys chattered to bring on monkey business  the branches of the rose tree were soon occupied by busy bees chirpy birdies who shared 'tweets'  about the latest "buzz". the trees looked like a four storeyed house!

Rosewood sighed ,"Oh how I wish I could go hand in hand with the melodious band ....". A while later it was time for a break  . The forest glowed happily in the orangish yellow noon rays that reached out to it. Gentle winds blew across the thick canopies of the leaf humming a fire tune "Hey! Do that again"'. As rosewood's green crown rustled with the hustle, he said, "How tuneful they are! How I wish I could tune in too!"  Hours later, the sunset set the stage for the nocturnals....  Robins lilted a 'calling' to signal 'calling it a day' Frogs hopped out their hideout and skipped along, croaking their song. Crickets did a tiny-a-ling, by rubbing their legs against their wings... The magic of music filled the air and  put  everyone off to a peaceful snooze.

But the rosewood remained up all night , wondering to himself , Am I be a child all my life, listening to their lullaby, or am I ever going to to sing them one?"

The next morning, rosewood found a wizard resting under his shade . H e cried aloud  "O dear wizard . May I be granded the the talebt, to make with the answer, "Well , yes! But there is one condition. You will have to give your all for it !"

In all exicitement , The rosewood nodded willingly. The wizard chopped him down, and used the wood to make a guitar and gave it to the finest musician in the town...... Sometimes, the musician came by to dwelling the wilderness and solitude of whistling  woods , along with his new fond guitar, with which he played the most soulful music.
If you put your heart and into anything , it will show

                                Concentration Insatisfied

I had to to write a essay for school, one of those long ones. The essay was due in two days and we had almost a week to do it.  But , I am the master of 11th hour, like make of us. In spite of having less time even now I think of playing, sing , a movie I watched yesterday and what not!  'Guss the essay topic ironically, it was on the power of concentration'! I am sure teachers scheme these topics because they know their students well. As usual , it the grandparents who came to rescue and there was my
tatha to save me!

Tatha saw the topic and asked, "Mathu, when did you last speak with your friend Hanuman?" I thought and said  "last night when I was going to bed. Last night I told him that I am tired  of all this running around and need more energy!" My tatha laughed, "You at twelve need energy?. What kind of energy did you ask him?"  "He is not a god tatha" I sighed and said. "he is my friend but he is a God-friend.!He is not like me at all. He doesn't get bored and tired. Tatha soon brought out the chapter from Sunderkand where we last left it and started reading.I sta by him quietly to find out what tatha was reading about my god friend.

Hanuman had crossed the the huge ocean but he didn't take a pause to even take breath! He observed Lanka . It was very beautiful, studded with precious stone  and gems with walls made of gold and glittered rainbows of light! At the same time it was unparalleled  security. There were ferocious rakshasas to protect it. Hanuman , as soon as he  noticed that , realized that it was not easy for him or his monkey friends to conquer Lanka. Forget  Lanka , most of us might not be able to cross the ocean  baring a few like Angada, Neela and Sugreeva. But when he thought of his god from the Raghu dynasty, he regained confidence. He then thought of how he could enter Lanka without being spotted and killed . He  then decided to reduce his size so tht he render hmself almost invisible.

But Lankini , the spit of Lanka spotted him. She told him that he could not enter Lanka without conquering her. Hanuman tried to explain that he was just come to  see the splendour of Lanka but she knew better than that.  She gave a mighty blow and Hanuman fought back . He punched her hard and had her floored in seconds . She then rose to bow down to him. She then told him about Lord Brahmana boon  to her. He had told her that when she is conquered by a monkey, it means that her good times had started . She then moved away to allow him to look for his goddess Sita , the daughter of Janaka.

My eyes almost popped out on hearing that Hanuman  just would not stop . He worked relentlessly. He loved Sita , but I hated studies. I looked at my Grandpa and then the essay and then asked "Why do I need to concentrate?" Grandpa asked me "Who created you, Mathu?" "God I think"Grandpa nodded."So it is god who is asking you to do this as well. God wants you to learn something ."He added. I smiled, "Like he wanted to find Sita " and I took out the notebook and started writing on the power of concentration with my
Hanuman as an embodiment of it!

                                  A Hung In The Lung

Indore : In one of the rare surgeries, a team of city-based doctors has saved life of a 12-year-old boy who had swallowed a nine-centimeter long live fish while playing on the riverside with his friends.
According to the doctors, Anil Barela, a resident of Khargone district, was playing with his friends on May 23. It was a routine for the kids to swallow live fish but this time when Anil swallowed the fish, instead of going to food pipe it entered the left lung through the wind pipe.
Anil soon started feeling short of breath and his breathing rate was reported 34 per minute while 17 per minute is considered to be normal. He had to undergo X-ray when the oxygen level in blood was measured 80 percent, 18% per cent lower than the normal.
Dr Pramod Jhawar, chest specialist and bronchoscope expert said, "X-ray displayed the left lung completely opaque due to the presence of a foreign object. The fish was live and taking its last breath when the bronchoscopy was done, restricting the functioning of both the longs resulting in low intake of oxygen." He said, "It is the first case of this sort that we have come across in 20 years time."
Dr Jhawar with ENT specialist Dr Nikhil Saxena and anesthetists performed a 45-minutes long surgery to get the fish out of the lungs. Dr Saxena said, "We have come across cases where kids swallow plastic or other materials, but this case was unique in its own way,"It is this true that he continues swallowing  fishes now also.

Browse the Web Faster on a Slow Internet Connection

If your current Internet speed is very slow and you are living in an area where broadband connections are still not available, here are some ideas to help you download web pages faster on your computer. You may use the same tips to  improve your web browsing experience on a sluggish USB modem.

Surf the Web Faster on Slow Internet

1. Turn off web images, the Adobe Flash plug-in, Java Applets and JavaScript from your browser settings as these files are often the bulkiest elements of any web page.
2. Increase the size of your browser cache. If the static parts of a site (like background graphics, CSS, etc) are stored in the local cache, your browser can safely skip downloading these files when you re-visit the site in future thus improving speed.
3. Sometimes the slow DNS server of your ISP can be a bottleneck so switch to OpenDNS as it can resolve website URLs into IP addresses more quickly. If you aren’t too happy about OpenDNS redirecting your Google queries, follow this simple hack.
4. Finch can serve a light-weight version of any website in real-time that is free of all bells and whistles. For instance, the New York Times homepage with all external resources can weigh more than a MB but Finch trims down the size by 90% so the site loads more quickly on a slow web connection.
5. Flinch (mentioned at #4) is good for reading regular websites but if you just need to check the latest articles published on your favorite blogs, use BareSite. This service will automatically detect the associated feed of a website and render content quickly inside a minimalist interface.
6. The Google Transcoder service at google.com/gwt/n can split large web pages into smaller chunks that will download more quickly on your computer (or mobile phone).
7. Monitor your Internet speed to determine hours when you get the maximum download speed from the ISP. Maybe you can then change your surfing schedule a bit and browse more during these "off peak" hours.
8. You can use a text browser like Lynx or Elinks for even faster browsing. It downloads only the HTML version of web pages thus reducing the overall bandwidth required to render websites.
9. When searching for web pages on Google, you can click the "Cache" link to view the text version of a web page stored in the Google Cache. Alternatively, install this GM script as it adds a "cached text only" link near every "Cached" link on Google Search pages.
10. Move your web activities offline as far as possible. You can send & receive emails, write blogs and even read feeds in an offline environment. Also see: Save Web Pages for offline reading.
11.  You can interact with websites like Flickr, Google Docs, Slideshare, etc. using simple email messages. Uploading a new document to Google Docs via email would require less bandwidth than doing it in the browser because you are avoiding a trip to the Google Docs website.
12. Applying the same logic, you may also consider using tools like Web In Mail or Email The Web as they help you browse websites via email. Just put the URL of a page (e.g., cnn.com) in the subject field of your email message and these services will send you the actual page in the reply.
13. Bookmarklets are like shortcuts to your favorite web services. You neither have to open the Gmail Inbox for composing a new email message nor do you have to visit Google Translate for translating a paragraph of text. Add relevant bookmarklets to your browser bar and reduce the number of steps required to accomplish a task.
14. Use the netstat command to determine processes, other than web browsers, that may besecretly connecting to Internet in the background. Some of these processes could be consuming precious bandwidth but you can block them using the Firewall.
15. Use URL Snooper to determine non-essential host names that a website is trying to connect while downloading a web page. You may block them in future via the hosts file or use Adblock Plus to filter out advertising banners on web pages.
16. If you don’t want to spoil your web surfing experience by stripping images and other graphic elements from  a web page, get Opera Turbo. It will first fetch the requested web page on to its own server and then send it to your machine in a compressed format. Opera Turbo won’t change the layout of a web site but can lower the image resolution so that they load faster on slow Internet.
17. Change the user agent of your desktop browser to that of a mobile phone like Apple’s iPhone or Windows Mobile. This will help you browse certain web sites like Google News, WSJ, etc. much faster because they’ll serve you a light-weight and less cluttered mobile version of their sites thinking you’re on a mobile phone.
